  • BORDERLANDS THEATER AUDITION NOTICE
  • Borderlands Theater is looking for a few great performers!!
  • We are looking for: Performers of diverse backgrounds to participate in Borderlands Theaters’ Coyote y Culebra Youth Project: Wind in the Shadows  
  • Rehearsals for the Youth Project have already begun.  Tours begin March 10th – and will run through April 2nd. 
  • Needed:
  • • Professional Performers of diverse backgrounds ages 20-37. (persons of color strongly encouraged to audition)
  • • Improv, and some Movement training a plus
  • • Professional Contracted Payment Provided 
  • Auditions will be held February 13th between 9am-12noon at the Borderlands Theater Office (40 W. Broadway  85701). Please call Borderlands Theater for appointment and additional information.  Walkups will not be seen.  Borderlands Office: 520-882-8607

  • Wind in the Shadows: Voices from Our Border Youth
  • Coyote y Culebra Youth Project is designed to empower students by nurturing their voices through writing beyond academic confines.  Borderlands Theater will capture these wonderful Border stories into an original script by Literary Manager Toni Press- Coffman and bring them to the stage under the direction of Alida Gunn, with images inspired by social justice photographer Josh Schacter. (March of 2010)

  • Stories our children tell are often lost in the shuffle that is life here on the border, caught-up in dust-devils and dispersed across the desert.  The Coyote y Culebra Youth Project is designed to empower students by nurturing their voices through writing, beyond academic confines.  Borderlands Theater will capture these important border stories into an original script by Toni Press-Coffman, bring them to the stage under the direction of Alida Gunn, with images by social justice photographer Josh Schachter.  (Spring 2010 TBA)

  • Borderlands Theater invites you to preview this series of Stories and Photographs by students, in partnership with Southeastern Arizona Arts in Academics.  Help us to share these beautiful, poignant pieces with the entire community.  How can we hope to understand our Border Youth if we shut their voices away before we have given them light?
