Casting for Anita!
Anita Fuentes, 12 yrs old, Sassy, vibrant, and fearless. Le echa muchas ganas, immigrated from El Salvador with her parents. (Lead character.)
Esme (short for Esmeralda), 15 years old, Green with envy for everything she’s been cheated out of. Feels the chola aesthetic. Doesn’t speak Spanish.
Lisa, 8 years old, hardly speaks cause trauma, but when she does she’s got something to say.
Papi, mid 30’s, Anita’s loving father.
Ensemble, (male) plays photographer, pupusa customer, and townsfolk.
We’ll provide sides and songs when you sing up to audition!
Musical theatre actors and Singers with a clear, powerful voice and confident stage presence are encouraged to audition.
Looking for trained dancers in Latin rhythms for Group 1! Salseros come through!
Good dancers in the community where are you at? Love to cumbia? Love to boogie on the dance floor? Come make memories! Dance with us. Bring your son, your brother, your hommies. It’s a family affair. We’re looking for all types and ages for group 2! The requirement is your smile, your love of dance, and your commitment to one or three dance numbers with the required rehearsals.
