Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

Borderlands Theater is seeking a creative, organized Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to help grow audiences, increase ticket sales, strengthen community engagement, and support fundraising for our professional nonprofit theater.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate Artistic Director/Marketing Director and/or collaborate with artistic leadership to develop and execute marketing campaigns for productions, special events, educational programs, and fundraising and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Create engaging photo and video content, including filming, photography, editing, reels, trailers, and promotional graphics.
  • Manage Borderlands Theater’s social media platforms and develop strategic content calendars aligned with organizational goals.
  • Schedule and publish social media content using approved messaging and campaign materials.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage influencer and community partnerships that help increase ticket sales and event attendance.
  • Monitor social media insights and campaign analytics to improve reach, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Engage with followers and help build strong, active online communities.
  • Set up and manage Borderlands Theater promotional booths at festivals, community events, and outreach opportunities, representing the theater and engaging with attendees.
  • Create branded digital marketing materials and occasional print collateral.
  • Build and format email newsletters and campaigns in Constant Contact using provided copy and content.
  • Post productions and events to community calendars and other relevant online listings.
  • Coordinate marketing timelines and manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain consistent Borderlands Theater branding and messaging across platforms.
  • Assist the Associate Artistic Director/Marketing Director with additional marketing and promotional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience with or knowledge of DSLR photography and video.
  • Strong social media skills, particularly Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, as well as Canva and/or CapCut.
  • Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
  • Experience with Meta Ads Manager and paid social media campaigns.
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable representing the organization at public events and engaging with community members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Compensation: $25 per hour, approximately 25+ hours

Experience in arts, cultural, nonprofit, or community-based marketing is a plus.
